Model DS Elrod Price List of Parts
An illustrated (3 pages of drawings) parts list, with prices, for the Elrod Model DS. This probably dates from 1942 or earlier, as the address on it lacks a city zone code (these were introduced in 1943, and are present on the later edition reprinted below).

Model E and F Elrod[:] Manual of Instruction with Parts List[,] Number 8 (Second Revision) . (Chicago: Ludlow Typograph Company, [no date]). [iv] + 141 pp. (Title on title page: Instructions for Operating ELROD Strip-Casting Machine, with List of Parts. Models E and F . 8th Edition (Second Revision).) This revision is physically slightly larger than the first revision, but shorter. All callouts on the figures are in black (some were in blue in the first revision). This is the first version of the Elrod manual to be bound with staples.

This document doesn't really have a title. It is a composite version of the Elrod manuals for Models E, F, and K as well as numerous service documents, compiled by James Parrish, with additional information by him. 254 pp.

This is an extraordinary document, really, and it constitutes the main source of detailed Elrod technical service documentation. For my own benefit (because I find it difficult to scroll through long PDF documents), I've compiled here a quick table of contents. This will make this present web pages long and unwieldy, but easy to search. Note that the page numbers for the PDF version do not quite match those of the paper version. I've cited both in the form {NNN/MMM}, where NNN is the PDF page number and MMM the paper page number.

Water Supply Tube Assembly (A-1193-C-FI)
Instructions (document ID: A-1193-C-FI) for installing updated water supply tube parts. Dated 1957-01-18.
Replacing Elrod Mold Housing (FI-110-G)
For gas crucible machines. Two sheets (1 text, 1 drawing). Text dated 1946-11-11 (Document Id: FI-110-G), drawing dated 1959-02-23 (Document Ids: FI-110-E & FI-110-G). These were distributed originally with the mold replacement kit. They came to me with the manual for Elrod s/n E4129G.
Note: These instructions appear in substantially the same form in the "James Parrish Version" of the Elrod documents (see above).
Puller Slide Mechanism (FI-71)
A notice (dated 1936-02-28) to the effect that starting after Elrod s/n 574-G one cam (Puller Slide cam EC123CB) and two gears (Mitre Gears EC1237C and EC1237 1/2 C) are secured by taper pins rather than set screws. This is accompanied by a useful drawing (dated 1935-11-29) of the relevant assembly.
"EPF" is Edward P. Forman (See pp. 145/143 of the "James Parrish Version" of the Elrod documentation, where the bulletin "Gas Elrod - Models E - F - K For Producing 2pt. Leads and Hairlines on 2pt. Body." dated 1960-01-10 is signed not EPF, as usual, but with his full name.)
